Warm-Up 1 asks you to write a personal presentation for a web site. This is a general message that goes out to everyone who visits the web site of the new company you've just got a job with. I.e. it needs to be informative, but a bit general - and a good piece of advertising for your new employer. In other words, you need to show how smart your new employer is for hiring you!
You'll find a couple of useful links on the Warm-Up 1 page: one from the 'How to Do Things' site with some general advice, and an example of personal presentations from the Ericsson company.
When the Warm-Ups have all been marked and sent back (by me, David), I'll post a general comment in a post on this blog, with advice for everyone about Send-In Task 1.

Before she went into automotive businesses she lived abroad and had a career within one of the most successful agencies in London; Valentin & Byhr. She started as a Project Manager with focus on customers such as Ikea and Ericsson but became a Senior Partner within short. After 7 years in London, her longing for moving back to Sweden appeared. She started her own agency here in Gothenburg in 2004; the Smedman agency, focusing on media strategies, which nowadays is carried on by her husband.

Earlier in her career, Malin worked in Malta in the online gaming business. In Malta, Malin worked for Euroslots Ltd, a subsidiary company of Cherry, which is one of the leading companies in the business of online gaming. She began as a customer support agent but shortly after she started working for the company, Malin became responsible for Affiliates tasks and developed quickly within the company. Autumn of 2011, Malin decided to move back to Sweden to begin her new work as the Managing Director of Påryd Projektering.

After he got a MBA at the University of New York, he directly entered to the Marketing Department of Samsung Electronics Corp. Thanks for his excellent performance at this department, he got promoted very rapidly and became the director of the Overseas Sales Department. His creative ideas and great success in Europe market were enough to show his top-level talents. Then, he moved to Sweden and worked for 4 years as chief project director at the Planning Department of Ericsson Corp.
We believe that Hyunin Hwang will give us tremendous success and great advance. He is a very smart and ambitious man. Before that she worked for two years at liquor store in Finland. While working as a hotel receptionist, the hotel, was chosen the best hotel of that hotel chain by customers. Also Emmi has worked with children as a school assistant for a year.
Best words to describe Emmi would be hard-working, good at organizing, trustworthy and professional. She has good social skills and she gets along with different kinds of people. When Emmi was younger she played football for several years and was able to develop her team skills.

During these four year, he takes the opportunity to work in many country to improve his adaptation capacity and his knowledge. After that, he moves to Montréal to study his master degree in financial engineering.
Available, curious, autonomous and hard working, he’s going to join us after many professional experiences. He begins as market operator for many banks and continues as financial director in companies like Vinci, Bouygues or Nexity.
After that, he decided to come in Sweden, where he did an exchange semester, to work for us.
A new manager has been hired and she will help Påryd to design the new strategy the company wants to launch next semester.
ReplyDeleteCreativity, sociability and good relationship with people are the main qualities of a manager. Thanks to her 4th year degree in Marketing and Communication and different work experiences, Lydie developed all this good points. Indeed during her studies in a prestigious French Univeristy she had the opportunity to improve her knowledge in study market, business relations and communication. Mixed with internships, she learnt how to develop a global communication strategy.
Her first meeting with the world of communication was in a pharmaceutical laboratory where she was in charge of press relations and then she discovered the other side of communication in an international advertising agency as a commercial manager. Those two experiences let us think that Lydie has the competence we need in our company.
To be a good communication worker you also need a good culture and strong language knowledge. That is the reason why Lydie’s experience in China is a real advantage for us. This enabled her to learn Chinese, which is the business language with English, but also because she worked with people with physical disabilities, she knows how to manage a team but she is also aware of the respect about differences. This is what we are expecting from a manager.

ReplyDeleteBorn in 1991, she studied at the Media Programme in the Swedish equivalent of high school where she learned a lot about marketing, public relations and the value of getting things right the first time.
After high school she spent a year in London studying marketing and communication at London met. After her time in the UK she moved back to Sweden and worked as a Business Manager at a small firm in Älvängen called Axums Järn AB for six months, and now she is a part of our team here at Påryd Projektering.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, photographing as well as outdoors activities like canoing and hiking.

Natalia, is a Spanish woman, who has a lot of academic experience in relation with Business studies. While she was studying Business Administration, she moved the last year to Växjo (Sweden), with the Erasmus grant, in order to know new international methods and strategies and to make contacts with professors and students from different cultures.
She has worked as a Technical Project Manager at SAAB Car Corporation for 1 year (team of Project Managers), where she acquired work experience and, specially, developed her skills in sales performance, project and human resources management. Then, she decided to collaborate for 1 year with the International Sales Department at the prestigious IKEA Company, in an International project, where a Chinese company was doing business with this prosperous Swedish Company.

CONSULTING in international Organization practice and construction management in Russia and Bolivia for more than six years,as well as projects in Almaty. As the Project Executive for Almaty, a million dollar real estate development, Ms. Megert has been directing the sizable team throughout the project from its capital dredging program to the development of the city. His areas of expertise are marketing (especially new product development & business development), finance, and economic geography.
Having worked for large corporations and organizations such as Deutsche Bank, Citigroup, Fraport (Frankfurt Airport) and the European Parliament, Thorsten has gained an in-depth understanding of how successful companies are operated.
During his studies Thorsten has developed a true fascination for Northern Europe, which motivated him to leave his home country in order to discover what life has to offer in Finland and Sweden.

After several years of work at multibillion companies, first as Event Manager at a newly built Hilton in London and then as a project manager at H&M in Stockholm I needed a new challenge.
When I realized that your company was hiring new personnel I never hesitated. I had heard and read so much about the projects you have done and your vision about being the best goes hand in hand with my view on life.
I am a “doer” and even though I have got the best possible education and un-valuable experience from my former employers I have always had a desire of helping to build a company from the ground. I want to find a place where I can settle down and when I’m 65 I want to look back and feel I’ve been a part of the business development.
Since those are my goals I assume you understand that I have had very high demands on a employer before I am joining anything – after only a few days here I am confident your company is that company, the company I will work with for the rest of my working life.
I work very hard to get what I want. I love high pressure and to get things done, but not without a smile on my face. No matter how tough your life is, smile at it and your life will smile back have always been my motto.

Bachelor of Social Sciences in China Studies and concentrated on History, Hong Kong Baptist University. Exchanged one year in Linnaeus University, Sweden.
During her university life, Wai Han participated a lot on social service in both Hong Kong and China. Being the president of Wofoo Leaders’ Network of Baptist University, one of the youth organization in Hong Kong, her great interpersonal skills have been developed since a great deal of interaction with others was involved. The experience of acting as a leader established her excellent leadership and management skills.

Henrik was born in 1993. He grew up in the countryside of Småland and learned soon that hard work is the only way to success. He studied at the program of technology at Finnvedens high school and graduated 2012. Thereafter he did military duty in the Swedish air force.
